As well as several of our smaller domestic extensions and refurbishments which have commenced during the early part of 2011, works have also started, and are rapidly progressing, on our 5 bedroom detached house on Hope Lane in Baildon, West Yorkshire. Following our detailed construction package of drawings and building regulations application, we are now involved in overseeing the works on site which are progressing well and are being carried out by McCabe Builders of Bradford. It’s always satisfying to see works progressing quickly and taking shape on site, particularly as so many projects, not just of our own, but across the industry in general, have been abandoned or put on hold over the last 3 or 4 years. There is a lot of uncertainty around at the minute, in terms of which way the economy will go over the next 12 months. I think the sheer length and depth of this recession has instilled a lot of pessimism in people in general. However, I’m taking an optimistic view and juding by the amount of building projects that I’ve seen cropping up recently, I would say that things are on the up. I sincerely hope I’m not proved wrong in the fullness of time!!!
