blog: contemporary east morton house nearing completion…

One of our Architectural commissions, a contemporary new house on the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal in East Morton, near Bingley, is almost complete. The project has been a self-build by our client who appointed our services around 2 years ago in order to obtain planning and building regulations approvals.

A planning approval was obtained via Bradford Council however, this was by no means straight forward, as some ancient lime kilns were found directly under the site mid-way through the planning application process. This was overcome via a complex foundation design, as the kilns were to be unaffected by the works. Our client has consequently named the new dwelling “Lime Kiln House”.

We are hopeful that internal and landscaping works will be complete early in the new year, and following this, we will endeavour to take some further photographs and update our Project pages accordingly.
