blog: latest news for July 2018…

July is shaping up to be an interesting month for us here at Mash Architecture. We were delighted to win a planning appeal against Bradford Council at the beginning of this month, which was in respect of a refused planning application for a bespoke new dwelling in Baildon, West Yorkshire. The application had been re-designed and re-submitted, following an earlier refusal yet, bizarrely, the local plannning authority sited the very same reasons once again in their latest decision notice. We advised our client that an appeal would stand a good chance of being upheld and we subsequently collated a very strong argument which, thankfully, the planning inspectorate agreed with. Our client is delighted, and will now build out the dwelling over the summer months. More photographs and updates to follow.

Elsewhere, a couple of our recent residential refurbishments / extension projects have recently been completed. The above image is of a front extension, which also comprised of a new open-plan kitchen / dining room, featuring hand-made hardwood kitchen units. The green oak porch and gable window feature were particularly pleasing.

Also in Baildon, we were delighted to see the completion of another one of our Architectural projects, this time the brief being to radically overhaul and modernise a large but tired, traditional family home. Again, our client was delighted with the end result.

We are also currently developing the Architectural construction drawings for an exciting, contemporary extension project in Nab Wood, near Bradford, which will be constructed mainly using green and environmentally friendly materials, and will feature a projecting window seat, bi-fold doors, horizontal cedar cladding and glazed roof lanterns set into a flat roof. We expect building works to commence on this project towards the end of the summer.
