Ilkley renovation project nearing completion…

We’re excited to see one of our larger and more complex whole-house renovation and extension projects, in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, nearing completion. This was an Architectural commission which we started work on towards the end of 2016 and which has involved a number of planning applications (all of which were approved) due to the site being located within the Ilkley Conservation Area, and there also being a number of protected trees relevant to the site.

Architecturally, the extensions (two storey side extension, single storey rear sun room extension, and front porch extension) were complimentary to the existing property. Internally, the design fused modern elements with a hint of traditional.

The internal ground floor layout was opened up considerably, in order to provide a sense of space and flow, and to create a large family / entertaining area. Coupled with the rear extension, which included glazed roof-lights and bi-folding doors, we think this has been achieved with success.

A number of bespoke features are evident throughout

The building works have been carried out by CI Construction Ltd, of Baildon, and we’re delighted with the results – as is our client. We’re very much looking forward to undertaking some external photographs for our Architectural Projects pages when the site is ready and has been tidied up.

Subtle lighting features help to add a contemporary feel to a traditional hand-made kitchen.
