Our planning application to refurbish and extend The Spite Pub, in the village of Newall-with-Clifton near Otley, was approved this afternoon at a Planning Committee meeting in Harrogate to the delight of ourselves, our client and the local community.
There will no doubt be several conditions applied to the approval from the local authority in order to control the development however, once these have been formally agreed to and discharged, we expect building work to start and progress as swiftly as possible.
We’re obviously very pleased about the outcome of today’s meeting, not only because the pub has been closed for some time and has been given the opportunity of a fabulous new lease of life, but also because we feel fortunate to be in a position to design and develop a lovely old country pub in a beautiful setting, which will hopefully create a wonderful venue for many years to come. We are aiming to have the building works completed and the pub open in time for Christmas and we will be keeping our website regularly updated with progress reports…..
