Project brief:

Building work was completed on this stone-built detached new house in Baildon, near Bradford, in September 2011. The project was undertaken for ASE Projects Ltd and building works carried out by McCabe Builders of Bradford to an excellent standard. After full planning permission was obtained via Bradford council, we embarked on a detailed construction drawing package and oversaw the building works, which went very smoothly indeed (partly due to a comprehensive set of working drawings and details, and partly due to the excellent building skills of McCabe’s)

The ground floor accommodation features a generous open hallway, a spacious and rather interesting kitchen cum dining area, large lounge, wc, utility and integral garage. An attractive stair with glass balustrading and an oak handrail leads to a first floor containing 4 bedrooms (including a master bedroom with en-suite) and a house bathroom designed with a contemporary bath and walk-in shower. A second stair leads to a further storey of accommodation (effectively a loft conversion) with a large bedroom within the roof space, and an en-suite with bath and shower. Due to its elevated position, the upper floor bedroom enjoys stunning panoramic views of the cities of Bradford on one side, and Leeds on the other.

The rear garden has an extensive low-level timber deck, lawn and soft landscaped border retained by a wall of reclaimed railway sleepers.
