Services Provided / Local Authority:

Architectural & Interior design / Leeds City Council

Project brief:

We were appointed to provide architectural and interior design services for this project, as well as providing a detailed package of drawings for a number of bespoke joinery items. We obtained the necessary statutory approvals, via Leeds City Council, to undertake significant renovation works at this wonderful farmhouse in an idyllic setting on the outskirts of Leeds. The extensive family home has seen a good deal of upgrading works carried out during recent years however, one half of the house is also in need of refurbishment and improvement, in order to bring it in line with the rest of the property.

Our proposals consist of creating a large study with bespoke floor-to-ceiling integral hardwood library bookcases. There is a revolving section of one of the bookcases which acts as a hidden door and provides access to a shower room and wine cellar at basement level, which was particularly interesting to design! The adjacent room is an occasional lounge / lobby area with a glass and steel spiral stair with integral hidden LED lighting, sited in front of a full height arched window. The spiral will replace the existing more traditional farmhouse style timber stair which will in turn transform the space completely. A large dining area is to be created in an existing garage space, again with a full height arched window.
