Removal and rebuilding of existing roof and full loft conversion in Guiseley, Leeds / £35,000 approx
Full Architectural Service / Leeds City Council
We provided an architectural and interior design service for this project which involved removing a large section of the existing roof and re-building it at a higher level in order to accommodate the necessary headroom within the new converted loft space at 2nd floor level. Two additional bedrooms were formed, along with an interesting area on the stair landing where headroom was severely restricted, which became a TV viewing / chill-out area equiped with feature LED lighting and a CAT5 network system.
Following our brief from the client, our first task was to submit a planning application to Leeds City Council, and following receipt of planning permission we sought building regulations approval, again via Leeds City Council, which involved the production of a comprehensive set of builders work drawings for the overall works. We also designed and detailed some bespoke shelving and storage furniture within the new roof space, as well as being heavily involved in the design of a new en-suite bathroom and dressing area to the first floor master bedroom.
The building works were carried out by a local firm from Guiseley, who did a sterling job. Not only were the works carried out to an exceptional level of quality, the project was completed in a short and efficient time frame, much to the client’s delight.
