Traditional over Contemporary

We’re very pleased to have been appointed as project architects / designers for a comprehensive refurbishment and extension of a well-known country pub in North Yorkshire. Over recent years, I have continuously strived to champion contemporary architecture however, I think the client’s vision for this project of a truly traditional country restuarant / pub is very much on the same wavelength as ours. We will shortly be submitting a planning application to extend the property, as well as undertaking the design work for the refurbishment. The focus will be on traditional well-kept ales, good wines, locally produced Yorkshire food and country pursuits. The pub has a great deal of local history and folklore attached to it, which has probably been lost on many people over recent years. Our intention is to bring that history back to the fore, and restore the venue to it’s former glory of yesteryear.

(Above. A very old photograph of the pub in the good ol’ days which we found whilst carrying out our survey).

We believe that the venue will be offering local residents something unique, and will come as a welcome change in the wake of the recent gastro-pub boom! We will be keeping our website updated accordingly.
